I Don’t Know How Anything Works

I’m not sure if many of you remember television or not. It’s the big rectangular box most people have in their homes. Well, that’s the piece of furniture. But, many years ago, people would gather around the television to watch tv shows. Now, everyone is pretty much on Netflix or Hulu, or Tablecloth. Probably most of you watch Netflix, and probably most of you are wondering what Tablecloth is. Don’t google it, I made it up.

A table cloth is that thing that covers a table.

Anyhow, there are many times when I’m sitting watching TV, because I’m really old at heart, and while I’m watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and The Andy Griffith Show, I wonder, “How does TV work?”

Have you ever thought about it? How in the world can we record a live human bean, being, been, whatever; and then see that person on a television screen thousands of miles away? Somehow, real people show up on my screen, and they get there through a little cord that carries electricity. It blows my mind! I don’t get it.

I really don’t think I’ll ever understand it for two reasons. 1) I don’t want to research it. 2) Even if you explained it to me, I still don’t understand. I mean, the science of it makes sense, but it doesn’t make sense.

There are some things that just don’t make sense. That’s okay. In fact, I’m not supposed to know everything. I can’t know everything. Only God knows everything! So, I’m content not fully understanding and just being thankful that tomorrow night, I’ll be able to watch Golden State defeat the Cavs in Game 7!
